Touch:Base
Did your youth athletics experience consist of picking dandelions in the outfield? Did rhythmic gymnastics resonate more than running the ball? Join us, and create the queer sports fantasy you could never have dreamed of. Comfort & Joy presents Touch:Base, a C&J spin on a sports-themed schtick.
This is not your typical masc4masc gear party. We’re building a league of our own and queering an institution, so slap some sequins on a jock-strap and dust a little glitter on your shoulder pads. Faggotry is fair play and revelry is requisite.
Decor worthy of an opening ceremony will be provided by head coach Chickpea and a team of local artists.
At 11:30, Oakland's very own Beatrix LaHaine, Creator and Priestess of the Tragic Queendom, will flex her incredible entertainment skills and present a halftime show of pumped up proportions.
Get ready to go from warm up to cool down on the Main Floor, where we're featuring the jazzer-sized stylings of DJs Sub Space, Mark O'Brien (https://soundcloud.com/djmarkobrien), M*J*R (https://soundcloud.com/m_j_r) (Polyglamorous), and Trever Pearson (https://soundcloud.com/treverpearson) (BAAAHS).
Downstairs in our Dug Out, DJ Xander (Dancing Ghosts/Boy Division), DJ Tomas Diablo (https://soundcloud.com/tomasdiablo) (Strangelove), and DJ J Maximillian provide the perfect soundtrack to try out some full contact sports. Get your bases loaded by a dizzying array of pitchers, catchers, tight ends, and spray hitters. Score a single, or if you’re lucky, a double header. We’ve got more balls than you can bat an eyelash at.
