Our lone emissary to the arc of the year stands tall, generous, and powerful, casting bright light, big heat, brilliance and the building blocks of life to warm the earth below.

This is the time of jamborees, barbecues, camp outs, state fairs, and sex outdoors. The grains are erect in the fields, neither in need of sowing, nor plowing nor harvesting, leaving space for play in the glow of the late afternoon.
This is the time to celebrate what we have cultivated. Our minds and muscles are maturing with the days and now the sun has granted us the time to share our selves, our stories, successes, sorrows, sweetness, and souls more fully.
This is not an invitation to summer camp with bourgeois gay men. This is the 31st Spirit’yall Gathering of Radical Faeries on Lammas. The faggot church of Nomenus calls home radical gay men, familiar and newly-called alike, for a week of freethinking, frolicking, learning, growth and transformative fun at the Wolf Creek Sanctuary in Wolf Creek, Oregon.
This Lammas let the candle of your faggot heart burst into the solar diva of your dreams.
The 31st Spirit’yall Gathering of Radical Faeries is a co-created event relying on the majick and vision of the community assembled. We cook, clean up, entertain, and enlighten ourselves. What would you like to do? What do you need to talk about? What is your intention? Who wants to make brunch? What are you gonna wear?
Last year’s 30th anniversary gathering was an amazing experience, featuring a heavy dose of visioning for the future of the sanctuary and the movement, as well as some well deserved congratulations.
This year, at SGRF 31, we are here to create our own legacies – to anticipate and harvest futures of realness; to fashion the nuts and bolts of building a better faggot; to heighten our intention to put the bass in our walk, collectively. We as radical faeries are the trailblazers of the gay community and we come to this gathering to discover which paths we are called to forge. We call into being this spirit, the spirit of the “Poodlebrook Academy for the Advanced Homosexual Arts.”
We are proud of what we have accomplished, yet we are not content to rest on our radical laurels. This is only the beginning of what we could become. Let us teach and learn the stories of our tribe.
Into the future of faggotry we go, intrepid and scared, alone and together as a community; what will be revealed this summer? What paths will you take here? What paths will you take back out? Leave your expectations at home!
Schedule of Events
We will open the gathering as a community at sundown on Sunday the 25th, kicking it off with an opening ritual and an introductory heart circle.
The Annual Miss Wolf Creek Pageant, our back woods bordello version of a drag race, is scheduled for Thursday evening!
The psychic pavilion, our discothèque of divine inspiration, will serve up electronic healing on Friday night, July 30th.
And Saturday the 31st, we invoke the faggot gods of Lammas for a day long ritual, featuring the incredible power of our majick mud pit!
Immediately after our week of merriment, Nomenus’ Summer Great Circle, our semi-annual board meeting, will convene Tues. August 3rd and Weds. August 4th to attend to the actual nuts and bolts of sanctuary realness.
Heart Circles
The heart circle is the engine of this gathering, our community and the whole of the radical faerie concept/movement/amoebic/trans-local/indefinableness.
Intimacy, presence, honesty, humility, and vulnerability are among the most radical actions a man can take. Active listening is one of the greatest gifts a man can give.
We invite you to (on the verge of insist), participate in one of the daily heart circles offered throughout the gathering. Accompanying the traditional anything-goes model of heart circle, we will again offer themed circles on any topic the group cares to bring. Anyone who wishes to call a circle is welcome. These circles have transformed many lives. Come listen to our heart songs and add yours to the choir. Get yer heart on!

Faggot-Only Space
Gender-exclusive space has been a painful topic for our community…and we have no wish to harm anyone in requesting this unique space. Nomenus sincerely apologizes for any hurt feelings generated by our call or gathering. Our original mission, and the sanctuary’s raison d’etre, is to facilitate the healing of faggots; Nomenus supports the liberation of all people and has worked to create many cauldrons to welcome a larger community to our space (Beltane, Samhain, the Naraya, Free Activist Witch Camp). In this time of faggot-only space, however, the faggots of Nomenus ask for your love and support as we attempt to become better queens.
To be clear – faggot-identified trans men who feel called to this gathering are explicitly welcome; we hope you have a lovely time.
Logistics
The Wolf Creek Sanctuary is located on 80 gloriously varied acres: meadow, creek, forest, and garden all await your imagination. With several ecosystems and a mild but varied climate, it’s good to pack layers and come prepared for hot, bright sun as well as cool nights.
This is a camping scenario. Come prepared to be comfortable in a summer forest; tent, sleeping bag, water bottle, flashlight, creature comfort of your choice, etc. We have a limited amount of indoor space you can request if you have special needs, but otherwise you are in charge of your own scene.
Folks with access to RVs absolutely love them; some boys never bother to set up a tent. Choose your own adventure.
Nomenus asks $100 to $350 sliding scale to support the gathering and yearly workings of the sanctuary. As always, no one turned away for lack of funds. Give as you are able but always give something.
Please make other arrangements for your dog.
Bring extras of any meds you need; the land sometime inspires spontaneous trip extensions.
